Romford’s Scimitar House granted planning permission
Havering London Borough Council today granted planning permission for Scimitar House’s new residential scheme.
Approval was given for 79 apartments, a change of use from its previous commercial status. ROC Invest has been instructed for the Phase One release and due to the projected Crossrail uplift of up to 43% (JLL) we expect sales to progress quickly.
The development is a six-minute walk from Romford National Rail Station, at the heart of the town centre and part of the Crossrail network. Already over 2014, prices in Romford have increased by over 10% with local agents estimating a 40% increase from baseline by 2020. What’s important to note, according to GVA Grimley, when considering Crossrail related properties – quality matters, and Scimitar House is certainly that, featuring a gym, 24 hour concierge, secure underground parking and a designer interior specification.
